BME stands for Body Modification Ezine. BME contains the personal experiences of millions of people all over the planet, in photo, video and text form. It serves to document the activities of the body modification community in as complete a fashion as possible. As part of BME’s mandate, we pride ourselves on educating the community so that we can explore our bodies in a safe, educated and consensual manner. Over the past 15 years, we have built a global community of body art professionals and enthusiasts alike. BME is determined to continue to document the growth and evolution of our industry but also to do our best to protect it.
While BME has always donated to efforts to repeal and lobby against ill informed laws and regulations against body modification, as well as supporting the legal defense of members of our community who have come into contact with the law, it has never been done in an official manner. BME has limited resources but it does have a larger voice than the average tattooer or piercer who is under scrutiny by the long arm of the law. BME has decided to develop a fund to help preserve our rights to modify our bodies and asks that you help contribute to this fund.
